Walkability

Ridgewood Village contains many old logging roads which will make excellent trails for hiking, biking and general recreation. Buildable areas in the greenway/openspace are being retained to create large unified tracts of land for enjoyment. See the Community Forest page for additional information.

Pedestrian-friendly design features for the residential areas include wide sidewalks and shared driveways with behind-house parking. Four community parks will be spread through the project area. The commercial district will have retail stores at the ground level and a mix of residential and office spaces above. It will de-emphasize cars by utilizing underground parking, pedestrian-friendly covered walkways, and horizon views that include nearby forested hillsides.

This conceptual Village Plaza emphasizes pedestrian traffic and underground parking, including mixed-use office and mid-size retail shops.
